Air-Fryer Southern Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Air-Fryer Southern Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients:

2 slices of light bread (white), wheat, or Brioche

2 eggs fried and seasoned to taste

3-4 pieces thick sliced bacon, uncured turkey bacon, or plant-based bacon

2-4 slices of cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon butter or mayonnaise for melting and toasting bread for toasting

1 teaspoon mayonnaise, optional as a sandwich condiment.

Directions:

Place 3-4 slices of bacon in a deep fryer over high heat, about 350-375 degrees.

Add a thin layer of butter/mayonnaise on two slices of bread on one side. You can also do this as the last step of the air fryer, using a skillet.

Quick Note – Condiment: If you like to use mayonnaise as a condiment on your sandwich, you can also add it to the bottom of the sandwich bread.

Cook bacon for about 3-6 minutes or until desired crispiness, set aside.

Fry two eggs in a pan and shape them into the size of a loaf of bread or fold it over. Flip egg halfway through cooking to cook on both sides (prepare to place on bread).

Add a slice of cheese to the bread then transfer the fried egg to the bread. Add a slice of cheese on top of the egg. The more cheese, the better.

Then add crispy air fried bacon on top of the fried egg with cheese.

Then place the other slices of cheese on the bacon and place the other slice of bread to complete the sandwich.

Finally, place your breakfast sandwich in the air fryer for about one to two minutes to toast your sandwich and make it nice, hot, and crispy.

Remove from airfryer.

Optional: Using a skillet over medium heat, add butter OR mayonnaise to the skillet to melt, then grill the sandwich on both sides until golden brown.

Serve and enjoy!
