Brussels Sprouts in Garlic Butter

Ingredients:

  • 15 Brussels sprouts, halved lengthwise
  • 11⁄2 teaspoons of butter
  • 11⁄2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, shattered with a flat knife
    Parmesan cheese, freshly grated 
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  • Melt the butter and olive oil in a medium saucepan until the butter is foamy.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add crushed garlic and simmer until lightly browned.
  • Remove the garlic and discard it.
  • Attach the sliced side sprouts, cover and cook without stirring to medium-low heat until tender. pierce it with a knife to check.
  • The cut side of the sprouts should be nice and brown, with a nutty, buttery taste filled with garlic.

Tips and tricks:

  • To remove some of the bitterness that brussel sprouts are well known for. Use a bit of fat when cooking.
